On System Costs ...

  • Are EDI mapping costs a separate, additional charge?
  • How will the cost of EDI change as the volume of EDI activity increases?
  • Are there any monthly volume costs for AS2-type partners?
  • Do I need any special hardware or equipment to run my EDI system?

On System Setup ...

  • Are cost of setup and testing for all EDI partners included?
  • Will 100% of the EDI trading partners’ requirements be met?
  • Can EDI information be easily shared with sales, accounting, shipping, warehouse, catalog, and other logistics systems?
  • Can the EDI process be modified to meet the demands of my company?

On System Use ...

  • Is their special training or dedicated personnel required to use the system?
  • Will the EDI process be automatic with a minimum number of steps?
  • Will I have complete control over the process and local access to my EDI data?
  • Are all properly formatted, printed documents included for each partner?
  • Is the EDI process simple enough for anyone in the office to use?

On System Support ...

  • Is there a single source of support for the EDI software, the EDI network and the integration of EDI data with accounting, shipping, and other logistics systems?
  • Are product support and services provided domestically?
  • Is the support phone automated – is it picked up by knowledgeable staff?
  • Will my support rep know me and my systems so that every support call does not start at step 1?
