The details of how each shipment is packed are critical to the EDI Advance Ship Notice (ASN) process. Using a progressive, paperless style, the EC GearBox links your EDI sales and accounting processes with the physical handling and creation of shipments.
Flexibility is key when it comes to picking and packing.The options will vary depending on your organization an operation, style of shipping, and on your EDI partner’s requirements.
The sequencing of producing and linking together picking lists, packing slips, UCC128 labels, shipping labels, and EDI ASN transactions will differ depending on such factors as the average size and destination of your shipments (DC, factory, store, or consumer), your most common carrier type, (private parcel, motor/ocean/air freight), and the type of inventory that you keep (each, pre-pack, master/inner pack).
The EC GearBox uses a combination of automation, data sharing, and intelligent reporting to enhance your existing systems and, when necessary, add new functionality. We offer simple time savers like bar-coded picking lists to speed shipping or custom packing slips or shipping labels meeting your retail partner’s specifications. For environments requiring more complex warehouse solutions we also offer fully integrated picking and packing warehouse workstations that integrate directly back to EDI and to shipping and other logistics systems.
